Travelling in the highlands.
A
ridden Icelandic can handle most things, and a lead Icelandic can handle
almost everything. Notice the rump in the lower right corner, where
a horse is being led
down
the steep, trailless mountain.
An
age-old trail.
If
a shoe is lost, the horse is lost...
Most
Icelandic horsemen know how to shoe horses (even in rain, like here : )
Going
over a "snow bridge" over a small river.
Better
walk carefully.
Horses
mountain-climbing in rocks. If one horse is led up front, all the
other follow.
Riding
in the sea is also fun...
Here
a herd of youngsters is being driven to the highlands for summerpasture.
There will be months untill they see people again.

Lukka.
