Winter, and the colors of the sheep

The first pictures are taken on new year's day, in the middle of the day, so they are very dark and the sheep seem more yellowish than they are. But this is the only time of the year where the sheep are newly shorn, so you can see their true colour. They change colour a bit when their wool grows.
A speckled/pim ewe. The icelandic word for the color is dropótt.

White ewe with big (flekkótt) and small (dropótt) spots, and some black (svört) ewes.

A white ewe with black cheeks, running in the december-dusk. Light is often very strange on photos at this time of the year.

Our grey ram has magnificent horns. Lamb's meat is a popular dinner in Iceland. In the wintertime there are festivals, the Thorrablot, where almost only lamb's meat is eaten.
