Icelandic: Dökk or Ljós. Means dark or light.
Description: The "shade" results in different hue or shade within the basic colors, it is mostly faffectiong the red pigment in chestnut and bay horses, making them vary in color shade from very light to almost black. It is under a complex mulitfactoral genetic You also propably see shade genes at work in black and smoky black, as some horses in these colors are very dark, others are very light, so light that they get easily confused with other colors.
