The breeding goal of the icelandic horse for the quality "Pace"

The Icelandic horse should have a confident and very elegant pace, with good rhythm and superb speed, keeping up full sprints (150-180 m, 450-540 feet).

What are considered faults are mainly:
  • No pace
  • If the horse only paces for short sprints
  • Little speed
  • Rythm problems in the pace, like four-beat, or hind legs that come down either too early or too late
  • Lack of elegance
