Pangare
Icelandic: No special name Description: The mealy or pangare gene causes pale red or yellowish areas on the lower belly, flanks, behind the elbows, inside the legs, on the muzzle, and over the eyes. It affects any body color. Víkingur, a pangare horse with chestnut base color, having a very mealy muzzle. ©-Andrea Tobias
This mare shows the pangare color, with the light muzzle and white around the eyes. She is dark bay, a lighter bay shows the color much better.

The pangare gene doesn't come more obvious than on this young mare I met at the horsecorrals at Skarðarétt.
