The breeding goal of the
icelandic horse
for the quality "Willingness/goeyness/temperament".
The
Icelandic horse should have a superbly lively temperament, be very keen
to go forward, and push itself to perform. The horse should try to
please the rider, be sensitive, gay and bright, reliable and courageous.
What
are considered faults are mainly
-Laziness,
the horse answers encouragement to go forward badly.
-Dull
temperament.
-Kicking.
-Bucking.
-Refusing
to work, or obeying badly.
-Much
nervousness or extreme sensitivity.
-Lack
of courage.
-Cold
character.
-Insolence.
Because
how difficult it is to judge temperament and goeyness in the short time
an evaluation takes place, and without riding the horse, the scale by which
this character is judged is only between 6.5 and 8.5.
