The Icelandic horse should have a confident and very elegant pace, with good rhythm and superb speed, keeping up full sprints (150-180 m, 450-540 feet).

What are considered faults are mainly
-No pace.
-If the horse only paces for short sprints.
-Little speed.
-Rythm problems in the pace, like four-beat, or hind legs that come down either too early or too late.
-Lack of elegance.
