The breeding goals for the individual characters of the Icelandic horse

As set by Fagráð í hrossarækt
(The Icelandic Horse Breeding Committee).

Conformation:

Head (höfuð).
Neck and shoulders/withers (háls og herðar).
Back and croup/loin (bak og lend).
Proportions (samræmi).
Legs (fótagerð).
Correctness (straightness) of legs (réttleiki).
Hooves (hófar).
Mane and tail (prúðleiki).

Riding qualities:

Tolt (tölt)
Trot (brokk)
Pace (skeið).
Canter/gallop (stökk).
Walk.
Willingness/goeyness/temperament (vilji/geðslag).
Appearance under rider (fegurð í reið).
