The breeding goal of the
icelandic horse
for the quality "Appearance
under rider".
The Icelandic
horse should be very elegant and impressive in it's performance.
The head should be very highly raised, the horse soft in the bit, and the
head carried vertically. The movements should be light, high, supple and
balanced, the steps should be large and the expression superb, the tail
carried superbly.
What
are considered faults are mainly
-Lack
of leg action.
-Hard
and heavy movements.
-The
head is not raised.
-The
head/nose is carried too high, the horse opens it's mouth a lot.
-The
horse shakes it's head and neck a lot.
-Swishing
of the tail.
