The Icelandic horse should have a fine, pretty head with good expression. The ears should be thin and fine, rather closed, erect and with a good position (high up on the head). The eye should be big, open, sensitive and merry, and the frame around the eye should be pretty. The skin should be thin and with fine coat. The chin/jaws should be thin and not deep, with a good throatlatch. The noseline should be straight and the nostrils open.
