The frequency of colors in the Icelandic horses

An observation has recently been made on the frequency of the main color genes in the icelandic horse, Iceland. Dr. Ţorvaldur Árnason og Dr. Ágúst Sigurđsson calculated it from all horses that are registered in the Icelandic Horse Database (Fengur). 64.089 of 100.077 horses in Fengur were registered by color.

These are the main results: (A computing procedure for estimating genotype probabilities at eight individual colour loci in the Icelandic toelter horse. 49th Annual Meeting of the European Association for Animal Production. Warsaw Poland, 24-27 August 1998)
