The Icelandic horse should have a soft and supple back, with a sertain elasticity, the dorsal line should be superb. It should be of a good length, broad and muscled. The croup should be long, with a certain slope, equally developed and filled. The tighs should be long and have deep and good muscle filling. The tail is set appropriately high.
What are considered faults are mainly:
A hunch in the back
Swayback
A stiff back, a straight back
A short or a long back
A narrow back, with little muscle
Loins that get too narrow towards the tail
Coarse croup/loin
Short croup
Shallow croup
Flat croup (trotting-horse croup)
A sloping back
