Straumur is a very gentle horse, and everybody can ride him, he needs to be trained more in tolt though for inexperienced riders to get the tolt.   He's very good on the ground, can be touched everywhere.  Carries himself well.  Is very soft in the mouth, stops well.  Goes in clean, smooth tolt, with outstanding footlift and reach, and nice speed range.  Has a good trot.  The canter is good to sit on, and the walk relaxed with good beat.  He stands still for mounting on loose reins.  He's neither lazy nor goey, just willing to please.   Tolerates extra leg very well.  As bomb proof as a young horse can be.  A good competition prospect and family horse prospect. Had rubbed a part of the mane off when the pictures were taken, because of a bad setup of the stall, it's growing out again.
